01 / Learning the industry
Where design met production.
I went into the graphic design industry after leaving school in 1996 and began gaining professional design and pre-press experience at Sinclair International.
Working within the Sinclair design team taught me to consider the production stages behind a finished piece: legibility, colour, format and the practical requirements of printed artwork.
02 / The work shown
Small labels, careful decisions.
This archive sheet brings together examples of produce-label artwork from that period. At such a small size, the relationship between the brand, product information and image matters.
The work is shown with its original Sinclair context. It was created within the Sinclair design team, rather than as an independent Byhorn Design commission.
03 / A lasting foundation
Experience carried into later work.
That combination of graphic design and pre-press remains part of how I approach logos, print artwork and project handovers today.
